Hi, my name is Kristina Bishop. I am excited to make music with our Forest Trail Falcons this year! I began my teaching career in Eanes ISD 18 years ago at Cedar Creek and Barton Creek. I have since taught at The University of Texas at Austin, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, and Austin ISD. I graduated from Texas Lutheran University with a BA and earned a Master’s in Music and Human Learning from UT Austin with a specialization in Orff Schulwerk. I hold three levels of Orff Schulwerk certification from UNLV as well as an Orff Master Class Certificate from The University of Memphis. In 2015, I earned licenses to teach the Simply Music Piano and Music Rhapsody methods.
I love sharing musical experiences and learning from other educators. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors of the Capital Area Orff Chapter, a division of the American Orff Schulwerk Association that provides professional development opportunities for music educators. I enjoy playing piano and striking away on any percussion instruments my children and I can find at home!
I look forward to continuing to build relationships with our fabulous Falcons as we sing, move and play many instruments. We will have a fun year creating music and movement together!
“Tell me, I forget. Show me, I remember. Involve me, I understand.”
